The story of Spectrometer Technologies begins around 35 years ago with Mr. Ingo Steinhage, who had a vision to transform the analytical instrumentation landscape in Africa. It all began with the idea of introducing handheld (portable) EDXRF systems into remote mining areas across the continent. Mr. Steinhage focused on the exploration and trading of minerals such as Tantalum (Ta), Tin (Sn), Copper (Cu), Cobalt (Co), and Gold (Au), which played a key role in the widespread adoption of instruments like the Thermo Fisher Scientific Niton handheld XRF.

Since those early days, our company has continually expanded its portfolio to introduce high-quality analytical instruments to the African market. Today, we proudly represent some of the most trusted brands in the industry, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Analytik Jena, Fluxana, Stable Micro Systems, OHAUS, SPECTRO AMETEK, Pendar, and more.
